Add Someone to the Database

Inclusion criteria

This database includes people who meet the following criteria:

  • They are alive.

  • They are associated with Alaska (e.g., they live/lived here, spend time here).

  • They were reported to the police for violence against women or gender non-conforming individuals, primarily:

    • Assault or harassment against an intimate partner (intimate partners include those who someone only met with once, if that meeting was for romantic/sexual purposes)

    • Sexual assault

    • and/or stalking.

  • The above report(s) is/are not available in Alaska Courtview and/or the Alaska Sex Offender Registry. Not that for offenses reported in Alaska, cases where no charges were pursued or that did not result in a guilty conviction are not included in Courtview or the Alaska Sex Offender Registry. For offenses reported outside of Alaska, most states do not have a publicly available database such as Courtview.

Submission criteria

Only the person who filed the police report may submit a person to be included on the website. Exceptions will be made only in cases when the survivor is deceased or can confirm that they have asked someone else to make the submission for them.

Only submissions for which the website managers can confirm a report to police was made will be included. No exceptions.

Step 2. Someone will look over your materials to determine if the person meets the inclusion criteria. They may reach out to you fill in any needed gaps. Safety concerns and safety plans will also be discussed.

Step 3. Once inclusion criteria are verified and intent behind the entry are confirmed, the person will be added to the database.
